DWP100: Dynamic Wavelength Processor Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS)
The Dynamic Wavelength Processor (DWP) by Finisar enables programmable channel switching and attenuation through the proprietary use of Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) technology and provides advanced functionality through embedded software.
The DWP 100 is a fully integrated intelligent module offering flexible, upgradeable Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS) functionality for advanced reconfigurable network applications.
Multiple configurations, including 9x1 or 4x1 add and 1x9 or 1x4 drop modules, are available. The DWP 100 is also available in a Drop-and-Continue (D&C) configuration. All configurations offer optional user-selectable 50 or 100 GHz channel spacing.
The programmable liquid crystal matrix technology individually addresses up to 96/48 channels on a 50/100 GHz grid, each of which can be independently and hitlessly switched to any port with full attenuation control.
Excellent optical characteristics enable operation in C or L band.
Finisar's DWP product family provides a cost competitive solution for WSS applications from the core to the edge of the network.
