EWP: Edge Wavelength Processor Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS)
The Edge Wavelength Processor (EWP) by Finisar enables programmable channel switching and attenuation through the proprietary use of Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) technology and provides advanced functionality through embedded software in a compact low-cost 1x2 configuration.
The EWP is a fully integrated intelligent module offering flexible, upgradeable Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS) functionality for advanced reconfigurable network applications.
2x1 add and 1x2 drop module configurations are available, both offer optional user-selectable 50 or 100 GHz channel spacing.
The programmable liquid crystal matrix technology individually addresses 96/48 channels on a 50/100 GHz grid, each of which can be independently and hitlessly switched to any port with full attenuation control.
Excellent optical characteristics enable operation in C or L band.
